I am very pleased today that one of our country-wide newspapers, The National Post, has named Rock Recipes as one of the Best Food Blogs in Canada. In a Saturday feature article today, my humble little blog was included with 10 other worthy websites as the best in the nation and the only blog east of Montreal to be included in the list.
It is with the amazing support of our loyal readership, Twitter followers, Facebook fans and more recently, our many pinners on Pinterest that is the real reason for this recognition. So if you have ever searched a recipe on Google to find us, liked or shared a post on our Facebook Page, re-tweeted or read a tweet on Twitter or pinned a favorite recipe on Pinterest, I say simply, thank-you; know that every one of those actions was very sincerely appreciated. When I started this blog 4 years ago, I never imagined I would reach so many people with our particular brand of home cooking and baking but I am so glad that so many took the journey with us.
The National Post's editors chose this photo of Banoffee Pie to include with the article and we couldn't be more pleased that they did. After winning NBC TV's Home Chef Challenge last Fall, which brought so many additional readers to the attention of my little corner of the web, this photo seemed a fitting inclusion in this new milestone for Rock Recipes. Rest assured there is much more yet to come from my little St. John's, Newfoundland kitchen.
Here is a link to that, now famous, Banoffee Pie.
