Ginisang Patola Recipe



Ginisang Patola

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • ½ lb lean ground pork
  • 1 large (2 lbs) patola (sponge gourd), peeled and slice into bite-size pieces
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce or 1 tsp salt

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic and tomato and sauté for 2-3 minutes or until tomato has softened.
  2. Add pork and sauté for 3 minutes or until browned and no longer pink. Add fish sauce or salt; stir to combine.
  3. Stir in patola, reduce heat, cover and cook for 5 minutes or until patola is crisp tender. Adjust seasoning with fish sauce or salt. Serve with steamed rice.
  4. Enjoy!
