INGREDIENTS:
- 1 lb. pizza dough
- 3/4 cup pizza sauce, plus more for serving
- 10 slices thin salami
- 20 slices pepperoni
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat and set aside.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out into a large rectangle, about 12 x 16 inches. Spread the half cup of pizza sauce all over the dough, leaving a two-inch border on all sides. Add a layer of salami, then pepperoni. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese all over the top. Starting at the bottom, roll up the dough tightly into a cylinder, pinching the edges to seal. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Using a pastry brush, brush the top of the stromboli with the beaten egg, then sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese. Gently cut slits in the dough every couple of inches.
- Bake until golden brown and crisp, about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes. Cut into slices and serve with additional pizza sauce on the side.
